Don’t Get Up Washington
I’m hoping that you read this. Sometime.
I’m hoping that something I write inspires you to action. Sometime.
I’m hoping that you learn something new about yourself. Sometime.
I’m hoping that you come back to read more. Sometime.
You see, to me sometime means it could happen and it could happen at any time. So I have made a commitment, this time, to be ready anytime for sometime to come.
What do you have, what do you know, what can you do? Have you ever made a list, even a mental one, that inventories such things? You might be surprised at what you learn about yourself. It could be good or it could be bad and it is, it is. It is all that.
What do you want, what do you wish to learn, what new skill would you like to possess? Have you ever made such a list? This list doesn’t have any limitations in terms of what you can put on it. Dream big and write it down. And when you’re reviewing it and think “this can’t happen, no way” that is the time to crank it up another notch and make the dream bigger still. I mean, why not? And you don’t have to be a kid to do this either.
Now, what are some realistic items on the list that you can go off and pursue and have hope to accomplish in a decently short time? None? That’s okay, just break a big dream down to a few parts and sooner or later one of those parts will be pursuable. Then go pursue that piece. You are then off and running after one of your big dreams. Getting started is important, I would say the most important part, so that you can achieve some quick successes and prove to yourself that you can expand your horizons, you can achieve at least some of your dream, at least some of your dreams. Once you get started it’s easier to keep going. Momentum is a huge thing. Prime the pump and drink the water. It’s the best way to quench your thirst.
As you acquire new items to move from your to-do list to your its-done list you will be amazed at how much better you feel about yourself and, even more amazingly, about others and life in general. Not only will you know more, not only will you be able to do more, but you will then realize that there are fewer limits to what you want to accomplish beyond those you place, willingly or otherwise, upon yourself.
“The chains we place upon ourselves are at once the easiest and most difficult ones from which to gain our freedom. We may even have the key but all too often cannot recall where it was placed.”
But once you are freed you are free. And you are free to go and help others.
What would this world be if all those who could help others did help others? And then continued to improve and advance themselves and used that to again help others? At the same time the others they helped first would then be helping their own others. You would think the changes could be, should be, exponential. There would be helpers and others everywhere and, before you knew it, it would be impossible to really tell the difference.
So why would this all not just naturally happen on its own or be openly pursued by, say, our political leaders? Well, let me see; could a very self-motivated, well-educated, highly-accomplished populace that felt no limitations to what it might achieve be a threat to those in power? Do you think it is to their benefit to keep you down, to place you in those chains that bind you and then hide or throw away the key? And we only have ourselves to blame if we continue to let it happen.
It should be the clearest thing you could ever see but it gets blurred when they have you by the wallet; or by the family; or by the church, or by the healthcare; or by the “we know what’s best for you”; or by the “we’re from the government and we’re here to help you”. And you let that happen too. We all do to some extent.
If you are not yet fully in chains then good for you. If you are and want to break free then stand up; rise up and do something about it. If you are and do not wish to be freed then you have my deepest pity for you are a sad and kept creature. Do you understand? You are KEPT. If you do not even notice the chains that have been (gently) placed upon you to bind you- and I sadly realize that this is too often the case- then I would ask all of my brothers and sisters who do know, who are wise, who have seen the light, to join together in helping you to realize and understand all that enslaves you and then helping you to gain your ultimate emancipation.
Some say it is never too late but I’m just not too sure about that…
Wise up and rise up America. Vote. Free yourself from the chains that bind. Get knowledge and get the power it brings. Break your own bindings because it’s never in the interest of the man to do it for you. Wise up, rise up, and be free America. It’s the calling of your founding and the true nature of your very being to do so.
And deep down, you know it don’t you? I thought so.
